Price forecasting

A band, not a guess.

Most forecasts give you one line and hope. Voltaraj gives you a calibrated interval: the P10–P90 band is statistically guaranteed to cover the realised price at its stated rate — so you can plan for the bad day, not just the average one.

From coordinates to kilowatt-hours.

No production history? No problem. The physics engine computes hourly output from first principles — solar geometry, irradiance decomposition, panel temperature, trackers with backtracking, bifacial gain, inverter clipping. Got a bankable yield report? Voltaraj calibrates to it and matches its annual figure.

The honest part

What we will not pretend.

Forecasting is a probability business. Anyone selling you certainty is selling you a story. Here is exactly where our numbers stand — and where they don't.

AccuracyThe physics engine is ±10% for screening.

Good enough to compare sites and kill bad projects early. For a figure you take to a bank, we calibrate against a formal yield report — and then we match it to ~1% on specific yield. Screening and bankability are different jobs; we tell you which one you're getting.

Data realityENTSO-E data is sometimes late.

When it is, Voltaraj doesn't forecast blind — a source gate automatically switches to the weather-driven model. It's designed behaviour, and the report tells you which source was used. No silent degradation.

Storage economicsWe assume you won't capture perfect arbitrage.

Our battery models use ~85% round-trip efficiency and a ~70% capture factor versus perfect hindsight — and a cycle only runs if the forecast spread beats the wear cost. Optimistic spreadsheets are how storage projects die.

Advisory, not tradingVoltaraj plans. You decide.

The trading planner produces dispatch schedules, bid curves and aFRR thresholds as decision support. It does not place orders, and we don't claim it replaces your trader — it makes them faster and harder to surprise.

CurrencyWe do not convert the uncertainty band.

Forecasts on coupled markets are natively in euro. If you want the figure in local currency, we convert P50 and declare the rate, the date and the source — the local central bank, not a cross rate. The P10–P90 band stays in euro: the 80% coverage is measured there, and an interval multiplied by a spot rate no longer covers 80% in the other currency. By how much less depends on the currency’s volatility — and we have not measured it, so we do not claim it.

For banks & institutions

On-prem. No data, API only.

Project-finance desks can run Voltaraj entirely inside their own perimeter. The financial engine receives configuration objects and revenue figures, and returns DSCR / IRR / NPV — it never sees your client data, and your data never leaves the building.

Isolated by design

The computation engine is stateless and session-safe — no shared global state, no cross-contamination between analyses, no access to the raw market-data warehouse.

Security baseline

TLS everywhere, bcrypt password hashing, TOTP two-factor authentication, HMAC-signed webhooks, Bearer-key API access, and a firewall that exposes exactly three ports.
